South Dakota State WR Dale Moss Interview

We all know the name Antonio Gates by now, the former basketball player turned star TE in the NFL. We also know the many others who have tried since Gates to make the NFL out of basketball. Every year there are more than a few and this year is no different. However there is one former basketball star who is showing exactly why he is in fact different from every other former basketball player turned football player.

Dale Moss was an all-state basketball and football star in HS in South Dakota. He decided to go to college on a basketball scholarship but he never let football get too far from his mind. Moss spent four years on the Jackrabbits basketball team before using his NCAA granted 5th year of athletics eligibility to see if he could give football one more go.

Well not only did he give it another go, but he blew everybody away with what he was able to become in just one year. Moss was at one point considered to be a big time sleeper at the WR position, that was before last week when he crushed his Pro Day running in the low to sub 4.4’s, and jumping 41.5”, all while being over 6’3, and around 220 lbs.

Dale Moss sat down with us and talked about his journey from basketball to football, how hard he had to work to get to where he is now, and also about what his best dunk was.

On a personal note, I want to add that based on what I’ve seen from Dale Moss on tape and from what he said to me in our interview, I would draft him tomorrow if I had the power.

For fun we had to add a video of Dale Moss dunking the basketball, this was him in High School, so only imagine what he can do now…
